Lumion - R&D Preview: NRD for Ray Tracing
Learn about the research and development for Lumion being undertaken by the Development Team.
This quarterly Lumion Community article, published February 19, 2024, gives you an overview of leading technologies that are being researched for possible use in Ray Tracing to help reduce rendering noise.
Read about Temporal denoising and NRD (NVIDIA's Real-Time Denoisers) and the two types of technology - ReLAX and ReBLUR.
Temporal denoising is a technique used in image processing and computer graphics to reduce noise in a sequence of images or frames, particularly those generated through Ray Tracing or other intensive rendering methods.
NRD for Lumion
One of the current research and development efforts focuses on integrating new denoising technologies, specifically NVIDIA's Real-Time Denoisers (NRD) - ReLAX and ReBLUR. These denoisers significantly enhance the quality and efficiency of the rendering process in Lumion's High-Quality Preview and Movie Mode Output.
